Equipment Review and Discussion :: FX6 Loud

ALL: Have an FX6 dated 28/14 on motor. Issue is it is loud noticeably compared to my FX5 that it replaced. Very annoying and disappointed. I have taken motor off, impeller out cleaned with qtip around the o-ring, lined up the arrows and placed impeller back in motor. All turns freely. Put all back together.

Placed under my 125 gallon tank and it is noisy as heck with vibration / humming sound. Can hear in the other room 25 feet away and around the Z corners.

My FX5 was put back in and very quiet until you walk by tank you can heat filter running. FX6 no.

Anyone else had this type of issue go on?

What can anyone tell me. Motor going out?

I don't have either filter but you can use a towel or thin piece of foam to help keep it quiet. I'd also shoot the customer service as they might be willing to replace it.
