I think it comes with most of the media you want. You can (as with any canister) customize the media layout as you prefer. All canisters should be below the tank, you are putting more strain on the filter when they are on the same level and this might go against the warranty.

To add to what Steve said, I upgraded my 406 to an FX6.
The fx6 comes with media, and the media in my three 406 baskets ( the fourth was sponges), was enough to fill the fx6.
However, Steve is right. Canister filters are gravity fed. The pump is just returning water. The FX6 is taller than the 406. You may have issues unless you elevate your tank.

I don't think anyone here uses Chemi-Pure. Do you think it will be beneficial for turtle setups?

From what I have been seeing on YouTube and reading about the chemipure elite I think it will help
Having clear water plus I am going to be putting the puffer white pad and the blue pad over the chemipure elite

I am thinking about adding 2 more fx6 to my 125g habitat later on. So I can run different bio media & media in each one
I should have digital crystal clear water with 3 fx6

IMO all types of turtles are very dirty pets. THey need a very high filtration system to keep up with them...
Manufacturers specs fx6 is good UP TO 400G could filter 526g per hour
The more media, bio media, pads we put into our fx6 will slow it down
Reality good up to half 200g will filter 250g per hour
Turtles need their water filtered min 2.5 x per hour

3, even 2 is a bit overkill in my opinion. I would concentrate on regular partial water changes.

Turtles are only healthy as your water is.....
The more filtering the more healthy water...
Healthy water = healthy turtles
But no matter how many filters we have we still need to do a 50% water change every 2 weeks

More filtering does not make the water more healthy, there is a limit to what that can accomplish.

Pretty much.
We all know turtles produce lots of poop. I'm betting there's lots of pee too, but I can't see that.
Filters deal with the nitrogen cycle ammonia (and urea) -> nitrite -> nitrate. That's it. It ends at nitrate unless you have some really special setups. We need water changes to remove that.
Filtration, particularly with carbon, can remove some other stuff and make the water look clear. But there are likely other chemicals building in addition to the nitrates. Again, that's where water changes come in.
Not that there's anything wrong with overfiltation. It will help with water clarity and can respond more quickly to sudden changes like a dead fish trapped under a rock. But even with overfiltation, you still need water changes.

No one said that I add more filters I won't have to change my water.... of course I will have to change my water but with 2 or 3 fx6 canister filter it will make my 2 week water change a lot easier and my tank will be cleaner less work when changing water
