Why is this filter running dry after just 2 or 3 hours?

It shouldn't. Maybe air is leaking in?

Thanks for your quick reply, I'll try to seal it better but I read from this forum that anything that says exo terra and zoo med is junk! That's after I had bought this thing of course. What say you?

I haven't used it, so I don't know if its junk but it does seem overpriced for what it offers. Also check the o-ring, make sure it gets some lube if needed.
