Fluval FX5/6 hose connector size?

So, I recently learned that you can connect a hose to the output connector on an FX6, leave the input hose connected to the tank system, and drain your tank.

My tank's in the basement about twenty feet from the floor drain. Perfect!

I bought an extra nozzle and went to the hardware to find the right hose.

An inner diameter 3/4" is too small and 1" is way to big. Since Hagen is a German company, that makes sense. But, I've been unable to find the dimensions online. I can order metric sized hose, but I have no clue what size.

Any chance anyone here knows what size hose I need to connect to an FX 5/6 output nozzle? I know I could buy expensive Fluval hosing, but it's not long enough.

I used to do this with the old Fluval I had.

Could the 3/4 hose end be stretched? Thats what I did when I replaced the tubing for my Python.

I know this is a little late but you can measure it with a metric tape measure. ID.

Did you ever figure this out? I'm wondering the same thing for mine!

get the 1" hose and put a clamp on it? that should work as 1" hose slips over, tad bit loose but clamp it up. just did not need 15 feet from home depot or I would have gotten the hose
