Some did, but there was a long period when they were rubbish. Usefulness was measured in weeks.

From what I understand they corrected that problem. I don't think people that own them now are having failure issues at all. Or at least no one has posted about any issues. Megaray that is.

Yes, the older ones were the ones with issues. I thought we shifted to talking about the older gear :)

I would expect the new Mega-Rays to last 9-12 months, depending on how much you use it. Need to get sliderkeeper to report in!

I'd say 9 months for the MegaRay. I got my first one back in October 2013. I think I replaced it this summer, when it was down to around 40 micro watts per cm2. That's still stronger than the PowerSun was brand new.

I don't remember the numbers when I last measured about three weeks ago, but they were still good.

There's no question that I could of kept using it, but after watching the local RES basking at high noon in the summer, I've come to the belief that the uvb recommendations for RES are on the low side.
