I was thinking of trying the PowerSun 160 Watt for my adult male Redfoot. My enclosure is 7" by 3" with 8 inches of cypress mulch. What is your opinions of the bulb and if it is bad, some better 160 watt mvbs

PowerSun has an iffy reputation on quality. They burn out quickly, so make sure you send in the warranty card if you get it. Alternatively, the MegaRay seems to have bounced back and a leading choice in MVBs.

Any reason you need a 160 over 100?

I was looking to provide more light with only one bulb since the enclosure was large. I will look into the megarays

I don't think it would provide a lot more light, but it would put out a lot of heat.

i could go with 2 fixtures with a flourescent uvb on the cool side and the mvb on the hot side

I'd opt for a UVB fluorescent tube as they are considered superior to compact fluorescents.

How are you liking it? What kind of basking bulb are you using and how close is it? I only need about a 50 W that is about 7-8" away.
