Has or does anyone use this bulb? Anyone ever checked it with a meter ? Didn't even know they made this bulb till today when I seen it on E-Bay for $32. I still want a mega ray but if this bulb is good or better than the 5.0 I use now it might be something I might try.

I've seen it many times in a major petshop here in Romania, but, at three times the price of the ReptiGlo I currently have, I thought it wasn't worth it. Plus the extra energy it uses... But I'm also interested in any info on the subject; if it proves to be better, I might give it a try.

It's been around for about 6 years. Early testing had it decaying pretty quickly but I have no long-term results. I'd say it's a mid-range quality MVB but I wish there was more testing going on. It's also a bit cheaper on Amazon, I do not recommend buying certain equipment on eBay.

I've used them in the past. I would concur with Steve's post. The bulbs don't last more than 6 months or so. I have no measured UVB meter hard data. My comment is based on observation of my turtle's basking behavior. After 6 months he stopped basking with this bulb. Replace it with a new one... basking again. 6 months into the second bulb... no more basking.
