If you will be using this tank for a few years, I would get the XP3 for it. Size and number of turtles could also influence your choices.

I have an 8in turtle in a 55g with the XP3 and it works great. I find that it having a powerhead or circulation pump at the opposite end of the tank also helps.

IIts like slimy stuff on the filters and glass. I always just rub it off the glass and do a partial water change or just let my filters do the work

How long has the tank been set up? If it's on the brown side, it may be diatoms. Apparently it is common in tanks just a few months old. It grows more quickly than other algae, but also is more limited in the types of nitrients it can use. Once more complex algae exists, it tends to disappear.

I have a ton of algae mostly blue-green algae because my dock is just eggcrate and the basking lights shine through it to the bottom. Clean out as much as you can and do a 3 day black out to get rid of the rest.
