Seachem 7.0 Im laid off and its cold outside so I guess Im bored. I would really like to know chlorine and or chloramine levels.. I thought PH Level would have been higher but i also realize the water has a low level and Im useing neutral reg. Steve, what are your thoughts about just useing bleach and then rinsing it in plain tap water and not useing some kind of chlorine remover?

Prime is used to remove/detoxified residual chlorine or chloramines where the neutral regulator takes care of the pH. So my guess is that it's basically it's cleaning it up after the bleach and they want you to be on the safe side.

As for not letting it dry out: "You will want to keep it moist until you use it again. If it dries completely, the structure of the resin can be compromised and it may not work as efficiently. While storing the product, keep it in a sealed container with distilled or RO/DI water to keep it moist."

Also found this:

"If you you can not obtain Prime, I would recommend rinsing the Purigen extremely well after regeneration and then place in an open container of water. Let this sit for 48 hours or so. This will give any remaining bleach time to gas off. After 48 hours, rinse the product one more time and it should be safe to use."

Then:

"Actually, it is no longer necessary to do the last buffering step in the regeneration process. We have since changed the instructions on all the newer labels, however, there are probably some old labels still in circulation. Just be sure that you follow the dechlorination step and there is no residual smell of chlorine left on the resin. If so, soak for several hours more in the Prime solution."

Neutral Regulator also removes Chlorine.Chloramine and Ammonia. So why use STINKY Prime at all.Actually if you can just let it soak in water for 48 hrs why use either? Do you use a RO/DI System. I was just looking at one at one yesteray.Around $180 for a three filter system.

Maybe it's for those who need it sooner.
