Equipment Review and Discussion :: How I clean my FX5 (video)

Various accessories and equipment discussed here.

Post Posted: Mon Jul 19, 2010 9:09 pm   How I clean my FX5 (video)

I decided to make a video to show the process of cleaning my FX5 in my regular tank maintenance.

If you're thinking about getting an FX5 or similar canister filter, or are just really bored and want to watch a YouTube video of a somewhat monotone Philadelphian (and his turtle), this video might really help you out. :D

Cool video! This is the first one I've seen for the FX5. I didn't know that it worked the air bubbles out, that's pretty smart.

Does the intake come with that attachment?

Thanks, guys.

Steve, what do you mean by attachment? Do you mean the self-priming system?

It would be horrible if it didn't come with the intake strainer. That could suck up any turtle's body part.
RES: Turtley - about 9" (She makes it a mission to measure her. :/)
Musk: Bolt - 4.5"
Mutt: Gaviota - small

It's more elaborate than the strainer on the other filters I have, so I wasn't sure if it was part of a standard package.

When I first opened the box I was amazed at how huge the strainer was. It really is very big, but it never gets clogged so it does it job well.
