Posted: Thu Oct 08, 2009 9:10 pmNo, that's not it. Egg crate literally looks like a crate. it's white plastic that has 1/2" x 1/2" openings that let UV rays pass through. It is not a solid piece of plastic. The openings are the most important part because glass and plastic block out UV rays.

I just bought 2 sheets at Home Depot for $11.49 a sheet...It's sold with the ceiling tiles...Lowes has it as well but it's just a tad more expensive at $11.92 a sheet. Oh and the sheete are 2x4 in size.. I'm using mine to build an ATBA and I plan to cut holes where the lamps will sit just to be certain they don't melt the plastic!!
