XP3 Leaking

Hi,
My XP3 filter is leaking, water is coming out of the part where the cord connects to the filter. Does anyone know why this happens? Im afraid the water will slide on the cord all the way to the wall and cause some electric mishap! The first time it happened I emptied out the filter and cleaned the top, and it stopped but the next day it happened again. Please help.

I'd try to use some lube on the o-ring, I think some used k-y jelly (water based) as opposed to vaseline (oil based) but I'm not sure of which... you might want to do a little searching.

If you're worried about the possibility of water getting into the socket via the cord, create a drip loop (this is good to have anyway just a precaution). Make sure the cord dips down from the socket and then curves up again; you're creating a bit "U" in the cord, not having it go straight to the wall without any bends in it.

I have no idea why it's happening. Are there any cracks around the cord at all?

Is it leaking on the disconect part???

I got an XP4 and only after about 6 months of disconnecting (cleaned filter every 2 weeks) the valves inside that turn, the plasic peice that turns them via the handel broke and leaked water out of them. Had to get a new one. Fairly cheap and quick shipping
