Sorry I havn't been very active lately, finally got a job! I work at home depot now and we sell pond filters, one is graded for 1000gals and the other is for 2000gals. I was thinking of buying the 1000gals one. For a fliter that does 500gal at the pet shop here it is $350 and the one at home depot is $176 and should go on clearence next month.
The only question I have is the uv light inside it, is that needed for indoor use? I am not 100% sure what the purpose of the uv light inside the filter is, Idk if it zaps bad nasty stuff like alge and all that or what lol.
I will be buying a 100+gallon stock tank next pay day and get Sass out of the 50 gallon and my mice back into it lol
My favorite things in the world:
1 res, 3 cats, 3 bunnies, 1 dog, 2 african clawed frogs, guppies, pleco, 30+ fancy mice, 2 hermit crabs and 4 small humans

As far as I understand it, the UV light in the filter is used as a sterilizer. I think it's used to keep algae growth down.

I don't see why it wouldn't work on an indoor tank. Just make sure it isn't too powerful. You want to make sure your turtle can still swim around

A UV sterilizer, when used correctly, destroys bacteria, parasites, and floating algae. I would take advantage of that deal, just make sure you tone down the flow if your tank is less than 200 gallons or so.
