Hi, i'm having problems priming my new canister filter.
The output hose never fills completely, and i'm not sure what to do to get it filled. If i lower it to about the same height as the canister filter, it fills but once i bring it up to the height of the tank, where it's meant to be, it doesn't fill completely.
If anyone has experienced and has a solution, it would help a lot.
Thanks!

Is your filter filled with water before you turn it on?

sorry i just realised i gave almost no information. ok my filter is filled up. i sucked the output tube using a pump while the input one was submerged. Therefore, the filter fills up. However, as i connect my output tube to the spray bar, the tube doesn't fill with water completely.
its sort of stuck, with a air air space in between. Now it's like that, i'm not sure how to get it completely filled.

I'm not sure what filter you've got, but I think as long as the intake and filter is filled with water (and the motor is submerged), then when you start it up, the water should just push the air out.

the canister should be lower than your tank, because its a gravity fed system

On the XP4 instructions on Priming, it doesnt mention about anything on the output tube, it just says to fill the Input tube until its full, then turn it on.
But mine didnt work at first either, so i filled the canister up, then finally it worked.

i figured it out, i got so heated n lost my patience i left my xp4 for about 15 min. came back to randomly try it, and it worked. lesson learned about patience... the instructions say to close the LEVER, then wait 2 minutes, then plug the motor.
i forgot the WAITING part.... so yeah it works now.
