for some reason my filter isnt working!! Ive had it for over a year! It seems to be that its not sucking in the water to filter it?? i poured in the water pushed down the handle and waiting a few minutes then plugged it in and its making a funny noise!! and i can see theres no water running through the hoses?? can anyone help??

It sounds like it's not priming. Is the filter lower than the tank? Did you fill the intake tube all the way up with water? Could the tubes be blocked? One thing i've noticed with mine is sometimes it doesn't seem to prime itself if i have a little bit of water in it already, for some reason it likes to be completely empty before i prime it.

YEA the filter is below the tank and i always fill the intake tube all the way up push down the lever wait 2 minutes then turn it on and its fine...I normally have no water in the filter when i poor the water down but ive tried with and without ..Could it be the motor is shot?? ive dfeff noticed it doesnt clean as well as it used to and theres alot more algae!!

If you took the impellar out to clean it, was it put back correctly? Are the baskets seated correctly?

ya ive had it for over a year ive never had problems with it until now!! Can the motor possibly die in it??
