I got one for the Indo boxie, havent been using it because it says the glass shouldnt get wet because it could caus stress cracks. Ok so, I have it on the side of the tank and the bottom of the pad above the water level. Is it still safe to use it? When I re-did her house, the glass didnt even feel that hot when I peeled it off. I would like to still use it to maintain night time temps but leary if the glass gets a little wet. Also, what about if the water level is slightly above the bottom of the pad? Wouldnt it just gently warm the little bit of water as well and not crack the glass. And YES the pad is on the OUTSIDE of the tank. I did read the directions.

Nah, i don't think it would be wise to use it. I have a UTH for use with geckos, and your not even supposed to use them with a drainage layer (not even an inch of standing water). I would think that it would warm the glass too much so that if water splashed on it, it would crack..... But I'm not sure.

I'm not sure what the difference between this and the zoomed pads is, but these are made to use on humid enclosures:

And the Zoomed heater doesn't have to be a total loss, When I upgraded my Leopard Gecko from the 10 gal to the 20 gal, I just kept the UTHs I had on the 10 gallon on there (it said in the directions not to try and peel it off, that you could damage the internal parts.) I Keep the 10 as a "hospital tank" just in case. Just recently it came in handy when I found a young bird, and I was already set up to keep him safe and warm. :D
