Hey guys,

For the bottom of my tank I'm using river rocks and glass pebbles. By glass pebbles, I mean the ones that are smooth on one end and look round on the top. They are multi-colored.

I was wondering if those were bad in any way?? The pebbles are larger then the turtle's heads, so there is no way they could eat them.

Thanks.

Sounds like what I had at first in Koopa's tank. They are fine, but I ditched them when I found out what a pain they are to clean and just use river rocks. It's much easier to suck the debris out of the bottom with just river rocks there. :)

Sounds good to me. I'll keep them in there while they're little, but I'll move toward more river rocks as I upgrade their tank.

Glass rocks can break, I use them for my betta fish and I don't like how they can chip and stuff especially when moved around, so I suggest getting rid of them.

You know I never thought about the glass ones chipping and with the way my turtles bang these rocks around, that would be a good possibility. Not that I use them, but it's good for other to have that info who might :)

I'm not sure of petstores carry river rocks, but many places do (Home Depot, supermarkets, gardening centers...)

Marble stone is not good to use in water because it may affect the hardness and water quality. If you meant glass marbles, it is not good/safe to use either.
