I just bought the Eheim Jager.

Yes! I've found them to be reliable, and over time they've become the only heater I will buy (I have 6 of them). If I had to say something negative, the only thing I can say is that one of them runs a tad warmer than the dial indicates, so I just lower it a bit to get the temp I want.

If you've got rocks, etc. in the tank, a heater guard is good just to be on the safe side.

Yeah I found out that you need to lower the temperature a bit lower than what you want the temperature to be at.

What do you mean if I have rocks and using a heater guard? Like so my little guy won't be touching the heater?
