You could, but they still will get slime all over the inside walls.

Sorry, didn't realize what i put down. What i meant to say is hoses that are durable and not the type that are flimsy.

yeah i remeber i bought some at the pet store and when water pumped through them they wore moving like side to side it was scary they wore so flexible i just replaced them after a while

Is Eheim 16mm hose the same as 5/8" hose? I'm getting hose for our new setup (Rena XP3) and I think I want to try seanwb's suggestion and try the Eheim hose. I know 5/8" and 16mm are very close to each other dimensionally, but I just wanted to post to make sure if I buy the Eheim hose for my Rena XP3 I won't be wasting my money. Thanks.
