yeah i have a hole cut around where the light shines on so the turtles get all there rays.

Since you have the babies in there, you should look at covering the egg crate with something soft to protect their shells. I used rubber shelf liner. It's cheap and you can find it at hardware stores.

That's what I don't like about baby turtles, they are way to delicate, luckily I haven't had any problems with mine, but I would like my turtle to stay around 4-5 inches and stay that size! :) Maybe I'll get lucky and mine will be one of those males that get no bigger than 6 inches!

well regarding the baby turtles, i added some shelf lining to the ramp and platform! it also helps the bigger turtles from shooting down into the tank when they're frightened.
