Not sure if this is the correct category to put this under, but it seemed the most appropriate. I am replacing my old W/D system of a couple plastic storage containers to an all acrylic setup that will allow me to put plants, and possibly fish in there. I am going to be building a customized tank to fit under my 125 gallon turtle setup that will be 48" (L) x 12" (w) x 12" (H). My question is I have a chance to get some 1/8" acrylic for very cheap ($5 for a 24" x 48" sheet). Would 1/8" hold the water pressure, as 90% of the time the tank would only be about 8" full. The only time the tank would go above that is if the power fails and the overflow drain down. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You're going to want 1/4" not 1/8". The 1/8" has a lot of flex. http://www.melevsreef.com is a good source of sump building info
