Equipment Review and Discussion :: Best SILENT canister filter?

I'm looking to upgrade to any good silent canister filter that does not make any noise or is whisper quiet.

I never owned a canister filter before but I have my turtles in a tank with about 20 gallons of water filled, and do 2-3 manual water changes per week.

I would be willing to invest in a good canister filter if it means not having to change the water so frequently. The tank is close to my couch so I want to not be able to hear the water flow or the filter run while I watch TV.

Eheim pro 2/3 are the most quiet, followed by fluval 05, then Rena xp 3/4. They are priced in the same order.

You'll mainly hear the filter output agitating the water surface.
