Does BioMax need to be in a bag? It sticks in my mind that people say that stuff comes loose and burns out their filter's motor. So should I have a pad under the bag of zeocarb and under the biomax? Or would it help to have the biomax in a nylon bag? I really don't want to have to worry about stuff coming apart and breaking my FX5. Thanks for your input. :)

BioMax should just be rinsed out, I never heard it affecting the motor (though the obsessive types on fish forums might notice something like that). No bag is necessary and one might even restrict the flow of water over the media.
