It sure is amazing that the water stayed clear when the pads look like this after you open it up lol. I really pushed the filter.

I should have cleaned it a 2 months ago but i didnt want too because all my turtles got moved outside yesterday and I didnt feel like cleaning it in freezing weather lol. So now my FX5 gets a couple months of rest ^_^

i plan to watch that show in an hour

but yea last time i changed my filter it looked exactly like that and smelled horrible

good thing it stayed in the filter

right now im pushing the filter. i havnt changed it since like February. and it still looks clean. but the filter bio media is destroyed. and by destroyed i mean really really brown and dirty. if i could id be calling mike rowe month after month cleaning this stuff...

btw i love that show! :D

lol i 2nd that. and he can come to all of our houses and clean our filters :D.

although, idk if my dad would want him in the house. he might think i wanna keep him... lol

hahaha. painteds i did the same thing with my filter but my filter was a smaller canister but that is just wow. FX5 is beast.
my xp3 is still pretty good though

I dont time myself but it takes a good while at least 30mins. Also since im no longer using it, everything sat out in the sun until everything was dry and packed back into the box. So it was an all day thing technically.

How often should you clean the FX5? I looked through the directions and couldn't find anything.
RES: Turtley - about 9" (She makes it a mission to measure her. :/)
