I'm curious how everyone with an FX5 tightens the bolts.
I usually try do tighten bolts that are across from each other (like you would when changing a tire), but sometimes I get lazy and just tighten them around in a circle.

It doesn't say you should tighten them one way or another in the manual, so I don't think it really matters. But I'm just curious how every tightens them :)

I start with a nut that's close to the intake tube. Then I'll go to the one straight across, then back to one that was next to the first one, then right across from there and so on...

I only do this to assure a good connection near the intake, but it probably doesn't really make a difference.

Speak of the devil, my iPhone is reminding me to do my monthly Fluval maintenance. He goes nothing....

I never thought of starting at the intake. That make sense!

Lol, yeah, I did Frankie's filter today (and Ralph's last week). I don't have anything to remind me, I just cover my calendar in sticky notes :P
