Polishing pads, AKA filter floss, is very fine media. It is the last stage of filtering and used to obtain crystal clear water.

I use Pantyhose(womens nylons) for this, as they are cheap, finer, and you can customize it however you want.

Yeah... or check out the thread I made just a couple days ago on making pantyhose micro filtration for HOBs. They are techinically H.O.B. flters by the way.

I use the pantyhose in my canister filters to get my crystal clear water... (you may remember pics)

if you dont like that idea.. you just buy filter floss and cut it to size then stuff it in your filter.

thanks. I'll keep an eye on the output to see if it flows less. Right now it is throwing Chompy all over the tank.
I have two female red ear sliders.
Chimpy - 5.5 inches
Chompy- 6.0 inches
Both were born about 7/2007
Got them -- 9/2007
