well i just got my new hatchling and i have only had him for about 4 days and he has not eaten. does he just need to adjust.

It's normal for them not to eat for a while when they are new because they get nervous in a new environment. If he's not eating after a week then we'll get concerned. In the meantime be sure he has lots of peace and quiet and privacy while he's adjusting.

if they look healthy then yes, they simply need time to adjust. sometimes it takes longer than a week for them to start eating.

Just to be sure, what are the temps of the water and basking area? Are you leaving him alone to eat?
