Is it ok if I.....

cut up small bite size peices of cuttlebone instead of having it on a veggie clip??I will plan on getting a veggie clip but untill I do is that ok? :?

I let it float in the water. I don't bother clipping anything down because it won't stay put for long.

Yes absolutely it's ok. Most people just let it float. I used to let it float but discovered recently that my turtle likes to have it pinned down.

I just break off small pieces and throw it in the tank. They eat it right away.

I prefer to drop in pea sized pieces for them. They would probably want to eat the whole thing if it was in there ;)

I've never clipped cuttlebone to anything. My turts prefer pieces that are smaller and easy to crunch. They wouldn't touch large pieces or the whole piece of cuttlebone if it were put in the tank. They get pieces that are head-sized or a bit smaller, and I tried to make them flat and thinnish so they're easy to break.

I just the cuttlebone right in there and the nip off what they want and it last a good bit of time

I drop like mini cubes of cuttlebone in it keeps them busy instead of gnawing of my basking platform :roll:
