Hmm..This company claim's that corn, soy, and wheat can bind calcium  Those are some of the ingridient's in reptomin.

I've been trying these pellet's on my guy's and they like it, not as much as reptomin, but they like it. It sound's healthier than most other pellet's which are mostly filler's.

Hmm, that stuff looks pretty good. And it's pretty obvious that they know something about turtles and healthy diet. I'm going to give it a try next time I place an order. Thanks for the heads up, Eddie!

I just picked up some HBH Turtle Bites cause it said on the package that it contains "raisins, coconut, papaya, apricot, banana, sweet potato, pineapple, apple, spinach, broccoli, carrots, dates" so I figured it would make a good treat everynow and then, especially if I ran out of lettuce for a day or two. But I just double checked and it lists "soybean meal, corn meal, corn gluten meal, wheat" among the top ingredients. :(

I have the jurassi diet pellets in the assortment i give to turtley, he doesn't like them so much, but i think it's mostly because he insists on eating out of my hand and little round pellets aren't very easy to give him that way. He just ignores any food that drops into the water, spoiled little turtle! They look super healthy though. I still give them to him sometimes, but he's a sucker for his reptomin!

I've been using Jurassi Diet pellets in rotation with other pellets as part of my painteds' diet for a while now. They're too small for my RES. The ingredients are excellent. My painteds don't like them as much as Reptomin, but I think that's because Reptomin has a fishy smell to it and they find that attractive.

Most turtle pellets, even the reputable ones, container wheat, corn and soy as fillers, and since they're usually at or near the beginning of the ingredient list, they're among the product's main ingredients. (I've always wondered about Mazuri because of this). This is a good reason why it's good to include other foods besides pellets in a turtle's diet as well.

I know a keeper who refers to those HBH Bites as turtle brownies because her turtles like them so much, and she only feeds them very rarely as a dessert. The oil content is supposed to be rather high in them. I've never bought them---all those fruits never appealed to me. But as that rare treat they'd be OK.
