Feeding and Nutrition :: Cat enjoys Reptomin too!

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

A little while back I bought the 2.64 lb box of Reptomin. I put some of it in and old reptomin bottle and the rest in a sealed plastic baggie, as the box wasn't resealable and I thought it might help keep it fresh.

Anyhow, I went into my room last night and thought, "Woah, it REALLY smells like turtle food in here!" Well, I figured maybe I just hadn't put the lid on tight on the turtle food bottle. Then I turned on the light, turned around, and saw half the bag of Reptomin was on the floor! My cat had destroyed the baggy, and I can only assume sampled the product. THAT was not too fun to clean up off the carpet...

This after he mauled me when I was trying to put polysporin on his neck where he's got a wound... And then this morning, he was meowing incessently in the wee hours, and decided to break into my room. He's figured out how to open the door if it's closed, but not "clicked in". Then he started drooling on my clothes and wouldn't leave...

What's with these animals these days???

My cats chewed up the bottom of a new canister of turtle food awhile back so now I have to leave it in my chest drawer. Then one of my cats actually took his paw and scooped out the turtle pellets out of the water after I put them in for the turtle (I close the door now so the turtle can eat in peace). Now they have the habit of getting the kitchen cabinets open and eating the ramen noodles and spaghetti! I guess I will have to invest in some child(cat)proof locks.

I don't think it would be harmful. It's probably pretty similar to what's in comercial cat/dog food, but with less "stuff".

No kidding!!! I had to laugh this weekend when I found out my uncle's dog AND my cousin's dog were both the same weight as my cat!
