Does your turtle do this?

My turtle ONLY eats when there movement in the water...I'd move my hand back and forth to make "waves." Otherwise it's as though he doesn't see the pellets. Most turtles dive into the water when they are scared, but my turtle quickly climbs onto ramp....

My turtle is definitely attracted by movement in the water but he'll also eat his pellets when they are perfectly still. When he's scared, though, he flies off his ramp and goes to the bottom of the tank. It's really odd that yours climbs up on his ramp. Are you sure he's a RES?

he might be a yellow bellied slider...his ears are faded yellow...
