I bought Sputnik 10 minnows a week ago, and this morning he ate the last one. I'd like to buy him more so he has that constant food reserve but 10 in 7 days is alot imo.

You could always just breed your own? In a ten gal or something.

My turtle does the same thing- she gorges on most of them and saves one for entertainment and eats it a few days later. I've come to accept this as her inability to "budget" her food :-).
I tried to buy her extra fish in case her turtle sitter forgets one day, but sadly, her reserves are gone before I even pack to leave...
So in short, I just buy a dozen or so every few weeks for her entertainment and leave it at that, because I don't think she has the sense to realize that she doesn't need to be such a glutton.

Our turtles always eats all of the minnows but leave one and will never eat it. I think they forget about it.

I thought about that AFTER I filled up my 10 gallon with 5 zebra dano's and a really small Pleco.

Maybe when the Dano's die, not sure what they're life span is. They're in very good health though, I've had them maybe 6 months with only 1 death and that was when I first got them.

I started keeping Rosies in a 6 gallon, and they are way easier that guppies for me at least. i killed of 3 sets of Guppies, and gave up feeling really guilty. The rosies seem quite happy though.
