i've fed my little guy a little bit of cucumber a couple of times in the past month. i don't see cucumber on any of the do feed or don't feed lists, so i was wondering if this is ok? i'm making sure not to give him too much (not quite a full half of a circular slice) as with anything. as of now it appears to be alright since it doesn't appear to be giving him any problems, but i wonder how nutritional it is.

It isn't very nutritional, which is why it isn't on the feed list. However it isn't an unhealthy veggie to my knowledge, which is why doesn't appear on the do not feed list. It is most water, and that is why it lacks the nutrients.

I give cuke as kind of a filler when I give Ralph a couple nice pieces of lettuce but it doesn't seem like enough... I usually cut them in matchstick slices. But I take the peel off, because he picks it off anyway, and it's annoying to scoop out billions of little pieces of cucumber peel stuck to the filter.

Not much nutrition (for humans as well), but some now and then won't hurt and will add variety to the diet.
