one of my turtles has recently stopped eating pellets straight of of the container. he would see it, chomp it, and spit it back out and call it a day. So in turn, i wanted my turtle to eat so i took an empty bottle, filled it halfway with pellets and added water and let them soak and fed it to my turtles for the few weeks that it lasted. My one turtle now scarfs them down like crazy. My question is, does soaking make the pellets lose its nutrition? or am i quite ok for doing so? as far as health, the turtle that didnt eat much before, eats alot and has started to shed, and even grow a little bit in size. as for my other turtle, he was always a hog anyway so i didnt worry about him.
**EDIT**
I just realized that i posted this in the wrong topic, so any mod, do feel free to move this post to the FEEDING section

When my turts were smaller, I had to soak the pellets first to get them to eat them. I don't see why it would hurt.
I would suggest soaking just a few pellets at a time, instead of adding water to the container. Your pellets will stay fresh longer. I would sit the pellets on a paper plate and add just a couple of drops of water. That's all it took to soak the pellet and it only took about a minute.

from what i've read, res don't have salivary glands, so they need to drag their food to water to properly eat it anyway.

Soaking the pellets before feeding is fine. I have to do this for my aquatic frog before I feed the reptomin pellets to him because he doesn't have very strong jaws.

If he is healthy, he could just be picky. I would continue to try and feed it to him, even if he doesn't eat right away.

my pellets say on the packet to soak them in water approx 2 mins before feeding them to soften them up.
