so I bought 2 feeder fish (not sure what kind they are orange) for my res
the small one has disappeared, but the bigger one is sticking around... I watched my turtle try and chase after him with no luck. I bought him on Sun. and it has almost been a week. a little piece of his/her tail is missing and he is constantanly going around on the bottom eating my turtles poop. i feel bad for the guy. should i just wait it out and they will eventually catch it? will my turtles eat it if he dies? the pet store guy said that they should be able to catch it (but he also said to only feed my turtles feeder fish to keep the tank clean, but i knew otherwise thanks to this website

)

also I'm not sure if this a problem, but only one of the turtles seems to be interested in the fish that I put in there. The other one still eats though(pellets) is that ok?

Turtles can be picky. One may like feeder fish and the other doesn't, just like one may like a specific brand of pellets and the other won't. There's nothing wrong with the one that doesn't want the fish. Maybe he's just not in the mood for fish yet.

mine will try to catch the fish and then give up shortly there after lol. They are to small right now, but soon enough they will hopefully enjoy a feeder or two.

It's fine to just leave it in there.

Leave the fish in!
When we first got Sputnik in April or May we bought him 3 feeder fish. Orange Minows I believe they are. Sputz ate two of them and the remaining fished rightly named "Survivor" has been in there ever since.
I'm almost as proud of Survivor as I am of Sputnik. Both of them have got so big!

I'm pretty proud of my feeders that have stuck around 6 months now, and the pleco I added 2 months ago. Makes me wonder if I have two of the more unique RESs out there.
Just a thought...but has anyone thought about added a crap or an african dwarf frog to their tank with the turtles. I've contemplated the idea for a while now but have not done anything with it yet.

Sooner or later the turtle will eat any other living thing you put in the tank. It's just a matter of time. Check out VelvetAlley's thread right after this one. His minnow survived from April until December and then one morning.....no more Surviver.
Also, some frogs are poisonous.
