i was wondering if turtles eat different kinds of flying insects all the time? because my one inch res hasnt been eating his pellets lately, but everytime a tiny flying insect falls in the water he eats it. they usually arent regular house flies, but tiny flying insects that are black and yellow stiped the same colors as a bee, but not an actual bee.

My turtle eats anything in her tank that isn't bolted down. She's a monster! :D

If your turtle was in a pond, he would probably be eating all sorts of flies! I don't see any harm in the occasional fly as a tasty snack, especially if it shows up in his tank by accident. Keep in mind that some bugs can carry parasites that are harmful so you don't want your turtle to be eating these bugs daily. Definitely continue to offer his turtle food to him. Mine likes Tetra Reptomin foodsticks the best.
