How much is too many veggies?

Hi All, I've searched the forums but could not find an exact answer to this...

I have a hatchling RES... we've had him about one month now. He wasn't eating at first so I fed him krill - which he loved - I am now trying "tough love" and feeding him just pellets and veggies.

I know you're only supposed to feed them what will fit inside the hollow of their head (I'm assuming this means each day). Octavian is still not eating his pellets - but LOVES carrots and today started eating his romaine. I had several little leaves in his tank and they are almost all gone.

My questions is - how do you calculate how many veggies to feed them - in addition to their pellets? It seems he'll eat as many carrots as I give him - and now that he's into the lettuce - I am worried that he's gorging on veggies!

Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Limit the carrots to once a week or so. They've got a lot of natural sugar in them. As for lettuce, you'll know he's eating too much if the poop appears flakey as opposed to solid. I wouldn't really worry about it. The important thing is he's eating it.

I know... it's really funny! Now if I can only get him to eat some pellets...

Thanks for the replies. :)
