Can you start with cuttlebone right away when your turtle is still a baby?

Also I live in a city so the pet store is my resource for food. I am not sure it would be the best idea to grab an earthworm off the side walk.

Can most of the animal based foods be purchased at the pet store and should I be concentrating on feeding George the animal based foods over and above the pellets.

I am amazed by their personalities! George is such a beggar!!! I feel bad because I feel like I am starving him but I know he is just trying to get me to keep feeding him....

You can offer cuttle bone, break it up into bite sized pieces.

Also, be sure to check the sticky at the top of this board and read the 'what to feed your res' Turtle based pellets are good every day for hatchlings and every other day for adult res. You should also be offering a variety of veggies...they are mentioned on the list. The sooner you start the veggies the easier it will be for him to take to them. He may not be interested right away.

Make the pieces super small and thin so they're easy to crunch.
