Lunch meat?

hey i was wondering if you can give your turt ham or turky as a treat

I wouldn't. Lunch meats have been treated with all kinds of preservatives, and most are high is sodium. Not to mention the protein level is high. If it was plain meat, then as a treat would be different, but they add too much crap to that stuff.

Try some plain cooked chicken if you want to give a meat treat.

I heard any type of pork can be deadly to a turtle.

Don't do it. Lunchmeats have tons of unnatural preservatives (like nitrates) that are not good for your turtle. Plus, there is a lot of fat & salt in it which can upset their stomach.

Before I knew any better (many years ago), I fed my turtle some lunchmeat turkey or beef & she would throw up every time I gave it to her! I took the hint, & never fed it to her again.

If you want to give them a treat, try an occasional freshly-dug earthworm from your garden. Much healthier & they will almost take your finger off trying to get it!
