I've never heard of feeding a turtle egg before...
So I personally wouldn't try it just for that reason.

I could be wrong though :)

The only time I've heard of egg being used is to tempt a turtle to eat if it has been ill or hasn't been eating... and then only the egg white. I wouldn't feed it as part of a balanced diet. Stick to the feeding list if you want to experiment, lots of leafy green veggies. :)

There are a few people that grind or mash boiled egg whites and shell. I think it's tortoise owners are more likely to do this as well. The shell is a source of calcium but I also heard it could be hard to swallow and digest. There are so many other choices to give your turtle.

You don't usually find hard-boiled eggs floating around a pond... Try to feed things that are at least similar to what they would eat in the wild.

You don't see turtle pellets floating around in a pond either. :)

I've given my turts bits of hard-boiled egg whites (not the yolks) on occasion when they were hatchlings. As part of the overall diet, it's OK to do so. The whites are pure protein, however, so if you wanted to offer some, it should be done sparingly and rarely. I don't mash--I cut a few thin slices to look like worms.

I use organic eggs, but don't use the shell, although some people do grind them up for use as a calcium supplement (you can boil the shell to soften it). With regular eggs, I've read there is the question of the hormones they contain.

Turtle pellets are made of things that are similar to what turtles eat.
It's kinda like when I eat a hot dog.

I toss boiled egg shells in for my res once a week or so and they love them. I've never actually fed them the egg whites or anything tho. Occaisonally I'll make scrambled eggs (no butter/oil of course) for my boxies and crush the shells up in it for them.
