Ok, so I know i'm full of questions today!!
Have any of you all given your RES sweet potatoes? I got one for myself so I figured i'd give it a try for Mr. Turtle to see if he liked it. What is the best way to give it to them? I know it has to be cooked first.

Are these the orange ones (or are those yams)? I've given my RES the orange ones in the past--high in beta carotene. I steam larger pieces to soften them (not too soft or you'll have a mess) and them cut them up into pieces that can easily be eaten.

I cut mine into small slivers and then microwave a couple in a shallow dish of water until they are soft, but like marissa said not so soft they are falling apart. Engelberdt still doesn't go for them right away, but once he's eaten all the other veggies he usually goes for the sweet potatoes.

Cool. Thanks for the advice. It's a fresh sweet potato that I have. They are the bright orange ones. When I make it for myself i'll cut off a few pieces for him to eat and see how he does. He's usually pretty interested in new things. He doesn't necessarily like them, but he at least gives it a chance!

I give Koopa sweet potatoes any time that I bake one for me. I usually just cut a portion off of one after I've cooked it for me and let it cool before giving it to him. It's not a daily/weekly thing, just when I have the craving for one myself.
