Ever since i fed them Omega One pellet they rarely poop..I mean their water kinda stays crystal clear.It even stated on the bottle "Low ash mean less waste" (?)
I'm not sure about the ash, but it's an interesting observation. If there is less filler, then it's possible you will see less poop. One of my RES is a real mystery when it comes to pooping, so I wouldn't worry about it
