Hello, I'm from Kolkata, West Bengal, India. I found a turtle walking out of a pond and onto the road. But I don't know what species it is and what I should feed it. It's been with me for Oneday.

I think it's an Indian Tent/Roofed turtle, which might have protection under your local wildlife laws. How big was the pond it came from? Is it safe to return?

I'm pretty sure indian roof's are illegal to keep as a pet in india, though RES isn't. Useful link(s):
