Feeding and Nutrition :: 4 days without food?

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

I am leaving for 4 days and am having issues with it being the holiday to have someone feed my RES. I know in the past when we would go on vacation we would use feeder fish which would keep him full while we were gone. Is this a bad practice and are there any suggestions as to what to do while I am out? Thanks in advance for anyones help.

If it's only one turtle, then I would probably use the feeder fish again, but you don't need much. You can also try an automatic feeder.

Ok thanks Steve. I will look into the auto feeder and if not take the feeder fish route.

How big is she? What her water temperature? What have you been trying to feed her? can you post a picture of her setup?

You really need a thermometer to measure the temps since hatchlings are especially sensitive. In fact, you need a water heater to help maintain steady temperatures. I'd also try some live prey (minnows?) as you can't wait too long for hatchlings to eat.
