It has repeatedly said that anything you put in your tank is potential food to your turtle. Feeding guppies is not a substitute for pellets--he should be getting them as well as other foods to add variety to the diet. Pellets such as Reptomin provide nutrients that may be lacking in other foods.

Let me put it this way..
My turtle did not eat any of my fish for months. One day my 12.00 fish came up missing. My turtle ate it. So therefore all because he doesn't eat it now doesn't mean he won't eat it later.

I also have a betta, but I keep him in his own tank and if he needs "company" I butt his tank against my frog's tank so they can see each other. This seems to work out very well, and that way I don't lose my fish!
I definitely wouldn't put any fish in the tank with Sheba (11 inch long RES) because she eats everything in sight.

I'm sure it is supposed to be male...we're getting our homophones confuzzled.
