Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

I have a red-bellied turtle hatchling that is 1 inch long. I feed him Reptomin hatchling pellets, lettuce, carrots and cabbage. But I have seen him pull algae off the side of the tank and eat it. Is this normal or does it indicate something else?

It's normal, but you might want to control your algae problem, especially if it's on any silicone.
