How do I tell if they're getting enough?

When I finally got the tank set up last night, I put some green leaf lettuce and a couple small apple slices on their dock. This morning, they pulled all the lettuce into the water, but don't seem interested is eating it. But any time anyone walks by with food, she comes right up to the tank to beg, it doesn't matter what it is.

I know that when I picked them up, there was a lot of talk of fish and pellets, and not much of vegetables. But there were tiny bits of lettuce in the filter.

She might have some pyramiding starting. I can't tell if it's really there, or if I'm being paranoid.

They usually ARE getting enough and keepers are more likely to overfeed than underfeed. I'd think 1/3 the head-size amount of pellets is fine.

You might see excessive growth or even some chubbiness.

i dont see much chubbiness. Shes not really fat on her skin but she is sort of pyramiding. I feed her six pellets and i feed her one worm a day. after i give her lettuce to snack on.

I don't really know honestly. When we got her my brother had her. She wasn't perfect , like she has a gap on the back of her shell and yea she was kind of pyramiding when we got her but it wasn't really bad. I mean I would understand why she wasn't perfect she was cheap. At the pet store they sell them for $25 they all looked the same.
