Hi, everyone. I'm trying to start supplementing my RES with the above mentioned. The calcium powder every other day with egg shell too, and vitamin powder 2x a week. My question is, how do I give these to my boy? Won't it wash off the veggies in the water?

I coat my pellets with calcium powder and it doesn't have time to come off in water

If your feeding a good pellet " Omega One" for example you don't need a vitamin powder.

I'm using Reptomin. I just found the sticky post about Turtle Jell-O shots and made my own version putting the calcium and vitamins in that. I'm hoping to solve two problems at once. One being Jade's picky nature, the other being the above mentioned. Thanks for the idea, though. I only put 1 tsp of vitamins in the mix that made 32 servings with 1 tbl of calcium powder. I hope it won't cause him any issues. I'm planning to give the jello 5 days a week with the other two being Reptomin/freeze dried crickets.

When you run out of Reptomin try to get something better. I like omega one. Your jello shots should be ok.

Thanks!
Okay, I will. He's eaten Reptomin all his life, and like I said, I haven't been the best owner up to now, but he survived. Now I'm gearing toward thriving and spoiling.

Just make sure the calcium powder you use is phosphorus free.

I just checked and it says it's low phosphorus. Is that bad?

Eh, can you link to the product? You will always want more calcium than phosphorus.

This is the only thing about the calcium I saw on their website.

I'm generally of the opinion that a turtle with a well-rounded diet doesn't really need supplements, if they have cuttle bone. If you still want to try a powder, though, I recommend Repashy Calcium Plus. It's a pretty standard supplement, and very difficult to overdose with.

Argh, why won't exo terra list the phosphorus amount? The Repashy Calcium Plus looks good. Rep-Cal is also good. Remember, low or no phosphorus and no Vit D3.
