Are Mice acceptable Turtle Food?

Not that it would be a regular thing though.

We recently discovered that we have a mouse problem in my house. We've set up some mouse traps (but have yet to catch any) but when we do, would it be appropriate to feed them to Brixie (dead or alive)? Of course if they are too large I understand that's a barrier, but I'm pretty sure the mice in our house are maybe just the size of two Rosy Reds, just little babies.

I figured it would probably be fine since snakes regularly eat mice though. But it couldn't hurt to make sure before I do it.

Live mice can be pretty dangerous. I personally wouldn't use live or dead rodents though. Some keepers/breeders use pinkies (newborn mice) but RES are fine with out it.

Okay, thanks for the update. Why are they dangerous? Are they violent or are they dangerous because they could have some infections?

Sharp claws and teeth. The fur will be dirty and difficult to digest. Plus, who knows the kind of garbage they eat. Diseases could certainly be of concern.
