I didn't know you have to peel off the back bone of a cuttle bone, and my turtle has been eating it like no problem for months. Will she be constipated forever, is it going to affect her?

Sounds like your turtle passed it. From now on remove the backing.

Maybe that's why I haven't seen her poop.

Next time you feed her watch her for some time afterwards to see if she poops.

yes I do notice tiny white specs on the bottom of my tank! i think its from the cuttle bone when she chews on it. When she eats it, some of the pieces pop out of her mouth because she obviously can't eat with her mouth closed, so that's why I think that the white specs are there.

I haven't for a long time, and that's why I think she is constipated and I don't know how to solve that problem. Steve recommended some sweet potato to help her. I recently changed her diet to Romaine lettuce, carrots, and tomatoes with a little bit of pellets.

Maybe because I always feed her before I leave to school, and I just never see her?

Turtles will generally poop pretty soon up to1 hour maybe after they eat. You need to feed her a good/ lots of food then watch her. I bet she goes! Good luck and let me know what happens.

I will put her in a separate tank with warm water and watch her until she poops on a weekend when I'm not doing anything. Other than that, I don't think my basking area isn't that hot??? i have a 75 watt UVA or UVB, which ever produces heat and its pretty close to the basking log, should that be okay or should I get a real heating bulb like the red ones you see for lizards and stuff, or just a stronger bulb?

What you need is s thermometer. Regular frosted light bulbs are fine they produce uva and heat. You have no uvb bulb? Without knowing the actual temp of the log you don't know if its hot enough. Your shooting for 90° or a little warmer.

I have both UVA and UVB bulb, but I'm thinking about buying a better bulb to produce more heat, and make the log warmer
